A. E. Hayoun is a writer, artist, and activist.

Avigail has been writing short stories and poems since she was ten years old, but it wasn't until recent years she realized writing is what she wants to do for the rest of her life. Starting in 2016 with a blog that never took off, Avigail dabbled in several different careers including hospitality, nursing, and information technology before realizing that writing essays about life and short stories from the world of her imagination was the one thing all those years had in common.

Avigail became a contributing writer at the Parisian online publication and "cabinet of curiosities" Messy Nessy Chic while she finished writing her first book, a memoir about her life in Israel. When the war in Israel broke out on October 7th, 2023 when Islamic terrorist groups invaded Israel and massacred over 1,200 Israeli citizens, Avigail took an active role in social media activism for Israel and the Jewish people.

Avigail's first book and memoir will be available in August 2024 to purchase as an ebook or paperback here and anywhere you buy your books. A.E. Hayoun is a writer, an Israeli activist, and the author of The Camel in the Forest, a memoir about moving to Israel and making a home in one of the world’s most misunderstood countries. Avigail writes about the complex and often times humorous aspects of life in Israel from the perspective of an American expat and a passionate Zionist. If you can’t find her at her writing desk, she’ll be out wandering in the desert, collecting ancient pottery, and photographing camels. Avigail lives in the Negev desert with her family.
