How We Care For The Environment

Updated: Sep 10, 2019

When the idea came to me to make my designs available on t-shirts (and other products coming soon), I was excited about the idea of people having my designs in their home and choosing them as a part of their wardrobe, but I was left with an unsettling feel. Thinking about printing and selling my t-shirts made me visualize cheap, rough t-shirts being printed on with toxic inks then wrapped in plastic and shipped carelessly through the post until it would arrive on your doorstep, at which point the design itself would bring you joy, but that joy would have come at too great of an expensive to the environment than I am willing to pay.

Instead of creating and opening an online store within the same year that the idea was born to me and the year I created the designs; the research and setup of finding a supplier who cares as much about the environment as I do took two years longer (I can't blame it solely on the research, I did give birth to my first son and figure out how to be a mom during those two years as well). Fast forward two years, here we are! I offer you my unique designs on 100% organic cotton t-shirts for the whole family (and onesies for the wee ones)!

One of the most exciting bits is that all of these (and future) products ship free of plastic! The packaging used to ship all orders is 100% plastic free because our paper postal mailing bags are manufactured from responsible, sustainable sources to comply with FSC® certification. The paper is both compostable and degradable, and paper mailers can be easily recycled, making your order extremely eco-friendly.

About the products themselves: our supplier's DTG printers use only water-based inks which are OEKO-TEX approved which means they don't contain any regulated or unregulated chemicals harmful to the environment. And when waste ink is unavoidable, they dispose of theirs responsibly.

The t-shirts themselves are 100% organic cotton certified by GOTS or OCS, grown without pesticides, GMOs or chemical fertilizers.

Additionally, all of their excess and waste cardboard and paper produced is recycled.

I couldn't ask for more than that! There's always going to be room for improvement and as those opportunities arise we will integrate them into the supply chain process.

The world, the environment, and all the dear people that inhabit it are interrelated on a superficial and spiritual level, and I believe that the small and large choices we make effect each other more than we want to assume responsibility for. I love to draw, paint, write, and to share all of those gifts with you, but sharing those gifts would not be worth it to me if this beautiful world had to suffer at their expense.
